FIRST FOOT GUARDS EVENTS, 2019

We invite you to come to our events, see what we do, and consider joining the Guards. All events are open to the public and are free except Old Sturbridge Village, Fort Ticonderoga, and Fort at Number 4 where there is a nominal admission fee. All events are subject to change due to weather or other cicumstances, so before attending an event, always check the event host's web site for the latest information. Many of these events repeat every year and there are photos and videos of many of them on our Photos and Videos pages.

Sun, March 31, 2019, Dress rehearsal for the Patriots Day battle on Lexington Green reenactment, Battle Green, 1900 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington center, 2-3:30pm, units arrive 1pm. Hosted by the Lexington Minutemen and the 10th Regiment of Foot. Rain date: Sat., April 6. In case of rain, check the host website.

Sat, April 13, 2019, Parker's Revenge, Minute Man National Historic Park, Battle Road Trail near Whittemore House and at Bloody Bluff, Minute Man Visitor Center, Rte. 2A (1 mile west of Rte. 128/95), Lexington, MA, 1pm. British and Colonial reenactors will portray the running battle that took place along this deadly stretch of road as the British column marched back to Boston. Park at the Minute Man Visitor Center or at the Minuteman Regional High School, 758 Marrett Rd (Rte. 2A), Lexington, MA. Bloody Bluff is directly across Rte. 2A at the corner of Old Massachusetts Ave.

Sat, April 13, 2019, Tower Park Battle, Munroe Tavern and Tower Park, 1332 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington, MA, 4-5pm. The British units arrive at Munroe Tavern at 3pm then march at 4pm along Massachusetts Ave. to the waiting Colonial militias at Tower Park for a large battle demonstration.

Mon, April 15, 2019, Commemoration of the Battle at North Bridge, Minute Man National Historical Park, 269 Monument St., Concord, MA, 8am, followed by a Mourn Arms ceremony at the British graves at the North Bridge. The Concord parade from Concord Center arrives at the North Bridge at about 9am. Note, all roads in the center of Concord will be closed to vehicles beginning at 8:30am.

An evening of food and drink, musical entertainment, and more as the First Foot Guards host an annual fundraiser for the historic house of Samuel Stetson, known in his day as "Drummer Stetson", whose house was a "tavern stand and a famous place of resort."

Sun, April 28, 2019, Revolutionary Graves Ceremony, Lincoln, MA, 2pm. March from the Pierce House, 17 Weston Rd., along Lexington Rd. to the Old Town Cemetery (Precinct Burial Ground, part of Lincoln Cemetery, 83 Lexington Rd.) for tributes to the fallen Patriots and British soldiers buried there, and then march back. If you can't march, park outside the cemetery and meet at the entrance at about 3pm.

Reenactment of a battle on May 21, 1775, when a small British force landed on Grape Island in Boston Harbor to load provisions from the farm of Hingham loyalist Elisha Leavitt, but were driven off by the Hingham militia.

Sat-Sun, June 8-9, 2019, Battle for Newbury, Spencer-Pierce-Little Farm, 5 Little's Lane, Newbury, MA, 10am-5pm. British and American encampments with drills, tours and battles reenacting a hypothetical scenario in which the British army attempts to retake Boston in the summer of 1776 by landing on the North Shore and marching south, but is opposed by militias at Newbury. $8 adult admission.
